Dragway 42's Memorial Day "Cheap Race" Weekend wraps up on Sunday with another $1,000 to win Box/ No Box combo; another $200 to win Junior Dragster combo; another unlimited quick dial-in, 1/4 mile Street Trophy class, and the season's first Summit "Retail Runoff".
The "cheap" portion of the "Cheap Race" weekend is the entry fee.
Sunday's total entry fee for the $1,000 to win Box/No Box combo is just $25. The Sunday entry fee for the Junior Dragster eliminator is just $20 and the Street Trophy competitors pay just $15 to be a part of Sunday's event. The adult spectator admission is $10 while kids 14 and under are admitted free of charge when accompanied with an adult.
Gates open Sunday at 9 AM with time trials beginning at 11 AM. Eliminations in the Box/No Box combo and the Street Trophy class begin at 4 PM.
The first of four Summit Racing Equipment Retail Store in Tallmadge "Retail Runoff" eliminators will begin around 1 PM and will run in conjunction with the time trials, prior to Sunday's main event. The Summit "Retail Runoff" is a free and exclusive bonus program at Dragway 42, offering additional recognition and awards to the track's 2009 big car, money paying class winners. Each racer from the season opener through Saturday's event who won a points class, gambler race, combo, or special event weekend eliminator qualified for this special program which will award a $250 Summit gift card to the Summit "Retail Run-Off" winner and a $50 Summit gift card to the runner-up.
Qualifiers for the second Summit "Retail Run-Off" will come from the events beginning with Sunday's Box/No Box combo through Dragway 42's IHRA Ironman Classic and Racer Appreciation Event on Saturday, July 4th. The winners from those 13 money paying race dates will participate in the second Summit "Retail Run-Off" that will be held during time trials of the Sunday, July 5th Summit SuperSeries event at Dragway 42.
Eligible racers for this first Summit "Retail Run-Off" are Ryan Pickens, Nick Hastings, Brian Gifford, Randy Biddle, Jr., Mike Jones, Andrew Dombroski, Kevin Burns, Alfredo Gordillo, Jose Diaz, Nick Halloran, and Bob Williams.
