Dragway 42's Points Program within the Summit SuperSeries completed its 4th of 12 scheduled events on Sunday. The results tightened the standings in all of the classes and saw some new names reach the top of the list.
In Milestone Services / Jeff The Plumber "Top" class Alfredo Gordillo, Brian Gifford, and Mike Jones maintained their 1-2-3 positions in the standings while Mike Alfman and Mike Egan showed the impact that one good race can have. Alfman jumped from 19th place to 10th place on the strength of his class win on Sunday. Egan broke out of a tie for 9th-12th position and moved into a 3-way tie for 4th place after his runner-up effort on Sunday. Egan's roommates in the 4th place position are Randy Biddle, Sr. and Mike Matty.
For the 3rd time in 4 events, another change has come to the top of the leader board in the Wind-It-Tight Engines "Mod" Class. Using back-to-back runner-up finishes, Nathan Smoot has vaulted to the top of the Mod standings while previous point leaders Jose Diaz and Andrew Dombroski are now tied for the 2nd spot. Randy Biddle, Jr. holds down the 4th place spot while Joe Soucek, Jr. has moved into the 5th position.
The Pearl Road Auto Parts "Street" class continues its weekly shuffling in the standings. Wayne Darlington has pulled into a tie with Nick Hastings for the class lead after another semi-final finish. Kevin Burns holds on to 3rd in the standings, Joe Halloran is in 4th, while another steady performance from Steve Tigelman has moved him back into the top 5 of the class.
Standings at the top of Dragway 42's "Junior Fuel" class has tightened as Tylr Barton broke out of a 4-way tie and has closed to within 1 round of eliminations of point leader Katie Madonia. Just 2 rounds of eliminations separate the next 5 drivers in the class as Ryan Norman holds sole position of 3rd, Adam Paul and CJ Yaeger sit one round back, followed by Brett Kochman and Lee Newmeyer just one more round behind.
For a second straight week, Mike Matty Jr. and Nick Vanerwyst remain tied for the class points lead in Dragway 42 "Junior Super Stock". Spencer Lacy has closed the gap on the leaders, now sitting just one round of eliminations behind them in 3rd place. Two rounds of eliminations separate the next 5 drivers in the class with Antonia Zindroski in 4th, Jaret Bender and Kristen Pesci just one round back in 5th, followed one more round behind in the standings by Rhyse Grumbling.
For the third straight week, Jaeden Durst remains in the top spot in Dragway 42's "Junior Stock" standings. Timmy Burns, Bret Hall, and Cameron Karnik remain in the 2nd through 4th positions.
The final points event of the month of June is scheduled for this Sunday, June 14th.
