[This race ran in conjunction with the Summit Racing Equipment Index Series, R.A.B. Trucking Quick 32, and Junior Dragster: “Back to School Survival Guide”]

On Labor Day, we honor the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country; a means of unifying workers and a reduction in work time. To celebrate the original spirit of Labor Day, we recognize the contributions of our racers, crew, families/friends, marketing partners, vendors, track managers, and staff.

For all Outlaw 660 classes, the 2-day race started August 31 with a night qualifying session. Two additional qualifying hits were made Saturday followed by eliminations.

Outlaw Dragster/Pro Modified
After 3 straight final round appearances, Bryan Keller and team were finally able to put their KB Trailer Sales outlaw dragster in the winner circle. After a tough 3 rounds, Keller just edged out Tony Mancini in the final round of the outlaw dragster field; Keller with a 3.760 and Mancini with a 3.761.

On the door car side, the No. 5 qualifier, Steve Easton (Patriot Pro Mod) won in the final round on a hole shot with a .062 margin of victory; running a 4.02 beating Jerry Martino’s 4.01.

We were also happy to welcome back several familiar faces over the weekend. Drivers returning to competition were Mike Knott (Outlaw Dragster), Matt Hutter (Pro Mod), Sam Christian (Pro Mod), and Jack Grainy (Pro Mod).

Xtreme Drag Radial/True Street
The booming small tire/radial scene has started to plant roots at Dragway 42. Despite a low car count in both classes (of all-run fields), drivers from OH, NY, and MI, were ready to rock and each car definitely had a punch to pack underneath the hood.

Moe Alfaqih (NY) took the win over Mike Gwynn (MI) in the final round of XDR; running a 4.60 over a 4.70. Dan Rensch (OH) took his 2nd win of the year in True Street; running a 4.90 over a 5.03 from Josh Williams (OH).

Join us for the final heads-up races of the 2018 season with the Outlaw Dragster and Pro Modified classes competing on Saturday, September 29, and the True Street and XDR classes competing on Saturday, October 13!

We were witness to some tough on-track competition during a very hot day at Dragway 42!

Drongowski and some A-MA-ZING #gorillaflames from T. Molnar!!! Probably the best side by side door car final to date with Steding just edging out Molnar (click here for video).

After what seemed to be a never-ending season of rain, drivers, teams and fans were looking forward to the return of the Outlaw 660 program with sun in the forecast. It was a gorgeous weekend and Dragway 42 welcomed over a dozen teams in each the Pro Modified and Dragster classes, with a small but mighty 4 drivers in each the True Street and Xtreme Drag Radial classes. This event also included 110+ index racers in 4 classes (5.50 | 6.00 | 6.50 | 11.50).

Hundreds of fans took advantage of the view from the grassy hills to catch all of the talented drivers in action–and to top it off the Matcham family treated us to a fantastic fireworks show by American Fireworks!

[This race ran in conjunction with the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular and Street Outlaws appearance.]

It’s pretty well known, sometimes welcomed, that in life a little rain must fall. After all, how would we get by without it? A wet drag strip, or a jeopardized event, brings an entirely new concept apart from sustaining ecological systems.

Drag racing and rain do not mix…period. For this very reason, it’s important to understand the consequences and the business side between them. Their relationship impacts the very future of this sport. It’s vital that racers do all they can to make an event once a track/series puts the resources, manpower and financial wheels in motion.

With this being said, we’d like to extend a sincere thank you to the Outlaw 660 Racers, along with the Sportsman Racers, for competing and sticking it out with us this weekend. We also want to send out a huge thank you to our track managers Mr. & Mrs. Harper, the IHRA staff, the Dragway 42 staff, and our owners Mr. & Mrs. Matcham for their commitment and hard work.

In the end, all of the Outlaw 660 Racers put on a show for over 3,000 spectators and decided to split the purse. We are extremely proud of how everyone came together this weekend. Fellow racers and fans saw wild burnouts, a high-flying blower belt, several 3 second passes, and some of the best runs on the track to date. Throughout the weekend our racers/crew also participated in family activities like golf cart racing and a special appearance from Street Outlaws Jeff Lutz, Chuck, and Ryan Martin.

“Racing and rain, never let the water get between you and your dreams.”

Over the course of the weekend, we were able to run both qualifying passes on Saturday and one round of eliminations on Sunday. Results from Eliminations Rnd #1 are attached. A few competitors unfortunately did not make first round: Leech, McGlory, Hutter.
