2020 SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS
We have held off as long as we could, but due to the restrictions still in place we will not be having an Awards Banquet this year. We will however have pick up days at the track for those with awards heading their way from the 2020 season. We will also take time to recognize all of our 2020 class champions this during the race season this upcoming May. We will celebrate our 4 Summit Racing Equipment Index Series champions with championship interviews on the evening of Saturday May 8th and again will celebrate our 7 Summit Super Series track champions on the evening of Saturday May 29th.
Awards Pick Up Days at the track will be the following:
March 26th from 3PM-7PM
March 27th from 11AM-3PM
Please enter the track from the Jeffrey Road gate and go to the red gate building (aka the “she shed”) on the Summit side of the track to pick up your awards.

Wow, what a season it was! 2020 has been wild to say the least but we all overcame the obstacles and worked together even with the challenges and new guidelines we faced to make sure a 2020 racing season was possible. Congrats to all our 2020 track champions.

2020 Season Update
***UPDATE 5/19/2020***
We have been receiving lots of messages and calls recently for obvious reasons and we appreciate your patience through all of this. Plans change daily as the rules and guidelines seem to still be very fluid. All of the motorsports venues in Ohio have formed a coalition and are working together to make sure our voices are heard, and it seems to be going in the right direction. There is so much still unknown. With any event, there is pre planning that has to be done. It doesn’t just happen overnight or in mere hours of a day. There is notifications to our vendors and our staff, etc that must be done prior to any event for us to be successful. We have been doing what we know, and what we have been approved to do following guidelines we have been given by our state & local health departments. With that being said, Dragway 42 will continue with that plan through the end of May with the continuation of private events and track rentals and plan to reopen our facility for public events starting the first week of June. The first Wednesday Test and Tune will be the evening of June 3rd followed by the ACE Ohio Events LLC “Summit Summer Slam” that weekend, June 4-7, 2020. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding and hope to see you all the first week of June!

2020 Season Update
***UPDATE MAY 14, 2020***
As you all know, with all of these changes due to state restrictions, there has been a shuffling of the original 2020 season schedule. With that being said, the Summit Racing Equipment Index Series, Box/NoBox, Juniors and TNT originally scheduled for May 30 & 31 have been postponed and rescheduled to June 20 & 21. Please note June 21st will be a “Double Points” race for the Summit Index Series. We will continue to keep everyone in the loop as we receive more information from the State of Ohio on the easement of restrictions our facility is currently undertaking. We plan to get back open to public events ASAP and your safety, as well as our employees safety, are as always, priority #1. At this moment in time, we still plan on hosting the ACE Ohio Events LLC “Summit Summer Slam” on June 4-7, 2020.

2020 Season Update
***UPDATE May 5, 2020***
Just an update. We will be closed May 8-10 and the public Test N Tune’s originally planned for those days are canceled. We are still awaiting to hear when we as a facility can open back up to the public for TNT and other events and will provide another update early next week. In the meantime we are still available for private track rentals. Please call 419-853-4242 for more information and to book your time. In the meantime, continue to stay safe and keep contacting your state officials to let them know you want them to reopen the drag strips and get the racing OFF THE STREETS!!

2020 Season Update
**UPDATE 4/27/2020 at 5:30pm**
After today’s briefing by the Governor of the State of Ohio, we regrettably have to announce the cancellation of the Test N Tunes scheduled for May 1st & 2nd. The sport of drag racing is very unique and not simply cut and dry. We are diligently working with State Representatives as well as our local Wayne County Health Department to see what the guidelines announced today mean for us for the rest of the month of May. We will continue to keep you posted on the rest of the month of May as we receive more information. Please continue to follow our page for updates.

2020 Season Update
**UPDATE: APRIL 10, 2020**
With the extension of the “Stay at Home” order by Gov. Mike DeWine through May 1st we regret to inform you that ALL public events at Dragway 42 are canceled for the month of April.
We will be offering LIMITED private drag track rentals and auto-cross opportunities following all social distancing protocols. Please call the office during normal business hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm at 419-853-4242 or email jcline@dragway42.com OR mamatcham@dragway42.com to discuss scheduling private track time in further detail.

SCHEDULE CHANGES TO NOTE:
– Spring Warm Up Truck & Tractor Pull Test Session scheduled for April 25th is canceled with no plans to re-schedule at this time.
– Summit Racing Index Series Race #1 scheduled for May 2nd is canceled with no re-schedule date.
– The NTPA Spring Nationals Truck/Tractor Pull scheduled for May 23 has been canceled with no re-schedule date.
– Import Face-Off scheduled for June 14 has been re-scheduled for June 28.
– Superfly Presents – Art In Motion AutoFest scheduled for May 8-10 has been re scheduled for July 3-5.

Awards Banquet Canceled
Due to circumstances out of our control, Dragway 42 will have to cancel the Awards Banquet scheduled for March 21st. We greatly apologize for this inconvenience and are disappointed we cannot celebrate your 2019 season accomplishments with you. We can only do what we are allowed to do, with the information we have been given with the COVID-19 virus.
Please call 419-853-4242 to arrange getting your reservation money refunded, put towards 2020 point registration or a tech credit. If you had hotel reservations, please call the Best Western Wooster directly at 330-264-7750 to cancel. All monies will be refunded.
Because none of us know at this point how long the mandated social isolation will be enforced, it is unlikely this banquet will be rescheduled. We will announce a date as soon as we know more information on the mandated isolation, for people to come pick up their awards and prizes at the track. Please continue to watch the Facebook page and our website for this post.

Dragway 42 Welcomes Jeremy Cline To The Team
Hello, my name is Jeremy Cline. I’d like to start by saying thank you to Ron and Mary Anne Matcham. I’m excited and ready to join the Dragway 42 team.
I have grown up with drag racing in my blood, attending my first national event before my first birthday at National Trails Raceway with many others to follow. Throughout the years, I have helped family and friends in various bracket programs.
My professional track experience begins with Pacemaker’s Dragway where I started out at the bottom and became the race operations manager. I have worked most positions at the track; I have done it all, and have seen it all. I was there 11 years. After that, life took a turn, and I decided that I wanted to see things from a driver’s point of view, along with marrying my beautiful wife for the last 12 years and counting. She is my co-pilot, Rachel Cline.
And now, the opportunity has arisen for me to apply the passion that I have for drag racing to Dragway 42 as the track manager. My mission is to find the balance between the traditions and roots of Dragway 42 while at the same time helping it grow and flourish. I will strive to provide a competitive race surface; I take pride in my work. I will work alongside of the 42 team to ensure that Dragway 42 provides a premium racetrack and multi event facility that is oriented to family values as well. I look forward to the upcoming 2020 season and the pleasure of working with the Dragway 42 family. If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to reach out to me anytime.
